Pacifica Child Wellbeing Project

Tamaiti o te Moana with Moana Connect

From 2021-2024 Va‘atele Education Consulting is partnering with Moana Research in a Health Research Council funded project, focused on Pacific child wellbeing. This project is a Pasifika-led health and education collaboration designed to investigate community perceptions of Pacific child health and wellbeing of ‘under-fives’. The project involves co-design and research with three South Auckland Early Learning Services representing Samoan, Tongan and Tokelau communities. The findings will inform the development of a Pacific child and family wellbeing project that combines health and education outcomes to improve the “B4 School Check” programme’s responsiveness to Pacific peoples.
